World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU) Kenya is an independent Association of Parliamentarians, members of; National Assembly, Senate and Members of the County Assemblies. WSPU Kenya was established in 1990 and became a caucus in 2014 under the Kenya National Assembly Standing Orders. WSPU exists in 106 Countries and WSPU Kenya sits at the WSPU global Executive Committee holding the position of the 1st Vice President.
The aim of the WSPU is to establish a network of Parliamentarians from the Senate, National Assembly and County Assemblies to support the various Scouts activities at their areas of jurisdiction whether ward, Constituency, County, Regional, National or International level.
WSPU Kenya Caucus leadership developed a joint programme on ‘Strengthening Parliamentary scouting in devolved system of governance in Kenya’. The programme aims to promote Scouting activities at both levels of Government and at the National Assembly, the Senate and County Assemblies.
WSPU Kenya programme was approved by Cabinet vide a Cabinet Memo on 12th may 2022. WSPU Secretariat is also domiciled at the State Department for Devolution.
